Today we bring you a new track from 19 year old singer-songwriter and producer, the talented Halima. The New Jersey born artist is well traveled, having lived in both Nigeria and London before moving to New York City, where she now lives. Halima has been making music for many years now, beginning out acoustically, then switching up her style after being introduced to deep house through the UK music scene. She also notes jazz and r&b as two of her main influences, and describes her sound as “ethereal and rhythmic soul.” In an email to TTM, Halima says of her newest song, “The single is dark and emotional, but the message, although not explicit, is of empowerment. The song is really for anyone that has felt undermined or less than. And for them to truly know their worth, know that no one can belittle them, bully them or take them for granted.”
